This summer's Amazon Prime Day featured some pretty stellar deals on wireless earbuds, with major discounts on AirPods, Samsung Galaxy Buds, Sony models, and more. If you missed out on deals this summer, you'll get a second chance this fall. Amazon's second Prime Day of the year is scheduled to take place Oct. 10-11. While we don't know what products will be on sale for what discounts, we do have some info about what you can expect alongside some event details so you can start crafting a plan to snag a pair of great-sounding earbuds on sale.

Of course, the discounts won't stop at earbuds. Whether you're searching for a new laptop or a new SSD card, chances are your favorite tech gear might be available at a lower price point, so check out our other lists for the best deals across the board this coming Prime Day.

Prime Big Deal Days vs. Prime Day: What’s the difference?

It used to be that Amazon only held one Prime Day per year, but in 2022, the company held a Prime Early Access Sale in October. This year, we are getting Prime Big Deal Days in October, which is essentially a second Prime Day with a different name. This is the second time Amazon has held a second event during the year, and the third time it's hosting one in October.

This event isn't the same as Black Friday or Cyber Monday in November, when Amazon typically also hosts major discounts. All of this is to say that fall 2023 is a great time to get ahead and save on holiday shopping.

Do you need Amazon Prime?

In order to take advantage of Prime Day deals, you'll have to subscribe to Amazon Prime. If you're not convinced you want to purchase a membership, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial, which will still allow you to purchase discounted products without the commitment. Like this past summer's sale, if you are already an Amazon Prime member, you can sign up for early, invite-only deals.

FAQ

Q: How much should I spend on wireless earbuds?

When it comes to spending, there isn't a steady answer on how much or little you should shell out. It all comes down to your priorities. Generally speaking, we try to keep earbuds purchases under $270 on the high-end. Their smaller drivers and overall build mean they typically don't hold up against over-ears when it comes to sound quality. However, their portability and lightweight design make them a necessity for exercise and other everyday casual use. The most popular models typically run between $150–$250, so when it comes to deals, we would seriously look at anything that is more than 10% off.

Q: What is the best pair of wireless earbuds?

In general, we stand firm behind the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II and the Sony WH-1000XM5. However, deals on those models aren't available... yet. We'll continue to update this list as deals become available.

Q: What makes a good deal?

Of course, the best deals are the ones with the largest discount, but sometimes, there's a little more to it than that. A brand-new product with a smaller markdown might be a better investment overall than an older product with a slashed price. Newer products rarely go on sale, so anytime there is a discount, it's wise to go for it, especially if you've been eyeing it for some time.

Additionally, make sure that whatever deal you're looking at isn't the standard market price. Vendors will occasionally inflate a price right before announcing a "deal." When scouring for Prime Day deals, you can check the manufacturing site to ensure you are actually receiving a product at a discount.
